Being Anonymous May Have Its Advantages – Kenmore’s Newest Blog, Eyes on Kenmore
Kenmore’s Newest Crow!!!
I’ve always wanted KenmoreUndressed to be a 21st Century way to provide my readers with intelligent and useful information about the local real estate market. It has made me a better Realtor® and it has given me a reason to engage with the community without being an obnoxious “salesman.” The REAL joy I get out of blogging has more to do with my desire to explain the world as I see it and try to articulate my thoughts creatively. I wish blogging was around a long time ago……..
Now, there’s a new blog in town (sounds like a song doesn’t it?): Eyes on Kenmore. What I find intriguing about Eyes on Kenmore is that the author “the Kenmore Crow” insists on being anonymous. In the words of the Kenmore Crow, his blog is “Kenmore Washington’s only fully independent / zero-profit news and commentary website with nothing to sell.”
Why Blogs are Relevant
Being anonymous may have its advantages because the author can assume a certain level of objectivity. It will also result in situations illustrated in the post: City Councilmember Laurie Sperry Declines Our Questions, in which Mrs. Sperry refused to respond to the Crow’s questionnaire because “I do not make it a practice of talking to crows.” The truth of the matter is, Mrs. Sperry told me (not anonymous) that she didn’t feel compelled to comment on my blog because she has her own election website. In fact, I invited all of the City Council members (more than once) to contribute election commentary and only Patrick O’Brien has contributed a post so far. Frankly, I am disappointed that only one council member responded. Perhaps my expectations were unrealistic….or were they?
Serious bloggers are (grudgingly) called citizen journalists by the Media. And rightly so. I’m excited that there’s another voice here in Kenmore that may help illuminate and educate you about what’s going on in our fair city…………….Make sure you include Eyes on Kenmore in your favorite websites!!!!

I see I’m not the only one spending some of my Friday evening on the computer!
Thanks for the hat tip, James.

So I guess in Mr. Cragun’s world, it’s okay to call people names (e.g. – coward) as long as you’re not anonymous. Good to know.
